The quality control of our door panels starts with the strict selection of basic materials such as veneer, insulation foam, aluminum, cork and various types of glue. We buy the veneers in whole sizes but also in part widths. By joining these sections by means of glue, the chance of gaps and overlaps is small. We use this veneer as intermediate layers in our sheet material. After the veneer has been pressed into plywood with a 14 floors multi daylight press. The four-sided panel is sawn at right angles, then calibrated and finally sanded. Before shipment, we carefully package our door panels so that optimum quality is guaranteed for you as a final processor.
We have a wide range of door panels with different specifications. The right face material for every application or performance requirement! For example, we have door panels that are particularly lightweight or fire-resistant. Or extra insulating for passive house applications.
Mill Panel door panels are among the best in the world. One inevitable consequence of this is the production of imitations by Chinese and French manufacturers, among others. To protect our doors from imitators and our customers from buying panels that turn out to be fakes, from 15 November 2010 (for UK from 1st Febuary 2018) onwards all Mill Panel doors will be fitted with a patented identification device. This device consists of a chip which is built into the door panel, positioned at a depth of 8 cm in the outer frame wood. The chip can be read off outside the door and is sealed in by a watertight plug, the colour of which is clearly visible from the outside.
The chip contains a unique code in which Mill Panel is able to attach important information such as production date, guarantee period of 10 years, type of adhesive and components used. Information can also be stored to indicate the machinery involved in manufacturing the door panel and the time of manufacture. It is completely impossible to manipulate the data stored in the chip. This provides a guarantee of authenticity, so that we can always say with complete assurance: 'This product is 100% Mill Panel!'
WWe stand by the quality of the door panels produced by us. Virtually all door panels have been tested and certified under SKH BGS 001. This means that the door panel meets the test criteria of BRL 0803.
