Our origins go back to 1908 when Van Hout was first established, the company went on to become a leading world-wide supplier of peeled and high-grade veneer. A panel manufacturing department was set up in 1971. 30 years later, in 2001, that department became the independent company of today known as Mill Panel BV.
In 2002 the production of peeled veneer was moved to Gabon in Africa. Mill Panel facilitated the move by actively contributing to the construction and production set-up of the new veneer factories there. This helps to explain why we have been able to build up such a broad range of expertise in the field of Okoumé veneering and an ongoing supply of veneer is guaranteed thanks to our excellent relations with the manufacturers.
Our strength lies in the innovative capacity of the organisation. This also accounts for the unique properties of AluPlex®. Research and development are hugely important in maintaining our distinctive profile and competitive advantage in knowledge and expertise. Our own laboratories are improving our existing products and developing new ones on a continuous basis.
